The Shado-Pan Assault is a faction in the World of Warcraft that was added to Mists of Pandaria as of Patch 5.2. The Shado-Pan Assault is an extension of the Shado-Pan that can be found on the Isle of Thunder. There are three ways to earn reputation with the Shado-Pan Assault: completing a limited number of quests, entering the Throne of Thunder raid, or turning in Shado-Pan Assault Insignias. The weekly quest [32-35WG] Champions of the Thunder King will award 300 reputation. Players can also earn 300 reputation by killing bosses and 30 reputation from trash mobs.

Kill bosses in the Throne of Thunder raid

To get friendly with the Shado-Pan Assault, you must kill bosses in the Throne of Thunder raid. This raid was introduced in World of Warcraft Patch 5.2 and has a minimum level requirement of 90+. It can be played in normal and heroic modes, with the normal mode having an unlockable heroic setting. The raid has 12 boss encounters, not including the final boss, Lei Shen, who you fight on heroic mode to unlock the 13th boss, Ra-den.

The seventh boss is Durumu the Forgotten, an extremely creative and strenuous encounter. After defeating Durumu, you will face Primordius, one of Lei Shen's failed experiments. The fight is a DPS race with many stat buffs. The ninth boss is the Dark Animus, a mechanical construct, followed by Iron Qon, a powerful mogu who rides into battle with his three Quilen Champions.

The penultimate encounter is against the Twin Consorts, Lu'lin and Suen, with similarities to previous twin fights but with new elements. Finally, you will face the end boss, Lei Shen, a long, complex, and difficult fight as expected of a final boss.

Killing each boss in the Throne of Thunder raid will grant you 300 reputation with the Shado-Pan Assault (500 reputation for Ra-den), helping you work towards getting friendly with this faction.

Complete the Champions of the Thunder King weekly quest

To complete the Champions of the Thunder King weekly quest, you must use Shan'ze Ritual Stones to perform the Lightning Ritual, the Spirit Ritual, and the Primal Ritual in various locations across the Isle of Thunder. This will summon powerful opponents that you must then defeat. Specifically, you must:

• Summon and defeat a Spirit Champion (e.g. Spirit of Warlord Teng)
• Summon and defeat a Lightning Champion (e.g. Electromancer Ju'le)
• Summon and defeat a Primal Champion (e.g. Incomplete Drakkari Colossus)

These rituals can be performed at various locations across the Isle of Thunder, and you will need a group of five players to complete the quest.

You can obtain the required Shan'ze Ritual Stones by killing rare elite mobs around the island, looting chests in the Troves of the Thunder King scenario, looting Troves of the Thunder King on the island, and opening Arcane Troves or Sunreaver Bounties.

Collect Shado-Pan Assault Insignias

To collect Shado-Pan Assault Insignias, you need to complete the daily quests on Thunder Isle. These can be found in the daily reward caches at the end of the dailies. For the Alliance, this is the Arcane Trove, and for the Horde, it is the Sunreaver Bounty.

The Shado-Pan Assault Insignia's grant 100 reputation each when turned in. They can also occasionally be found in the gold chests at the end of the Treasure Trove solo scenario.

It is worth noting that there was a disparity in drop rates for the Insignia's between the Horde and Alliance, with the Horde trove dropping it around 30% of the time, and the Alliance only 0.3%. This was acknowledged by developers and was to be hotfixed.

Complete one-time quests

There are several one-time quests that offer substantial reputation rewards with the Shado-Pan Assault. Here's a breakdown of these quests:

• The Thunder King: This quest becomes available after completing the initial chain of quests in the Isle of Thunder. It requires you to defeat Nalak, the Storm Lord, in a challenging outdoor boss battle. Nalak can be found patrolling the Isle of Thunder, and his defeat will grant you a large amount of reputation with the Shado-Pan Assault.
• A Change of Command: This quest is obtained from Commander Lo Ping at the Shado-Pan Garrison after reaching Revered status with the Shado-Pan Assault. It tasks you with defeating the enemy commander, General Nazgrim, in a special scenario. Completing this quest will not only provide a significant reputation boost but also unlock the ability to purchase additional reputation bonuses from Commander Lo Ping.
• The Soul of the Horde / The Spirit of the Alliance: These quests are available to Horde and Alliance players, respectively, after completing "A Change of Command." Trash mobs are an effective way to gain reputation with the Shado-Pan Assault faction in World of Warcraft. Trash mobs award reputation up to 2,999/3,000 at a neutral level. This can be achieved by farming the trash mobs before Jin'rokh the Breaker and then exiting and resetting the instance. This process can be repeated four to five times to reach the reputation cap.

It is worth noting that this method may not be as quick as killing bosses, but it is still a viable option to gain reputation with the Shado-Pan Assault. Additionally, there are other ways to gain reputation with this faction, such as completing one-time quests and the weekly quest, Champions of the Thunder King, which awards 300 reputation.
