Kung Fu Panda 4
The fourth instalment in the Kung Fu Panda franchise, Kung Fu Panda 4, was released in 2024. The film follows Po, a clumsy panda and kung fu fanatic, who is gearing up to become the spiritual leader of his Valley of Peace. However, Po must also find someone to take his place as the Dragon Warrior. As he trains a new kung fu practitioner, he encounters a villain called the Chameleon, who conjures villains from the past. Po must defeat the Chameleon before she steals the kung-fu abilities of all the deceased masters in China.
In Kung Fu Panda 4, Po teams up with a fox named Zhen, who guides him through the city and tries to lead him into the Chameleon's lair. Along the way, Po and Zhen enter a restaurant and cause chaos as Zhen tries to swindle the owners out of mahjong tiles. They escape with the captain of a boat, who drinks a lot. On the boat, Po has a vision of the Chameleon's desires, and he and Zhen arrive at Juniper City. In the streets of Juniper City, Po discovers that Zhen is a wanted thief, and the two must escape the police. They find refuge in the Den of Thieves, where Zhen is welcomed by Han, who took her in when she was younger.
The next day, Po and Zhen enter the Chameleon's lair, where Po is captured and caged by the Chameleon. Zhen, revealing that she has been working for the Chameleon, steals the staff and gives it to her. The Chameleon tells Po and Zhen that her true passion is Kung Fu, but she was rejected by every training place because of her small stature, which led her to sorcery. Po tries to escape but fails, and the Chameleon uses the staff to gather power from all the Kung Fu masters of the past. Zhen realises her mistake and goes to find Po. Po talks to his dads about change, and they encourage him to stop the Chameleon.
Po returns to face the Chameleon, but she uses the power of the masters to strengthen herself and transforms into all the masters in one. Zhen tries to help but falls with the rubble. The Chameleon transforms into Po, and the real Po defeats the imaginary ones. The Chameleon captures Po again, but Zhen uses a move Po taught her to defeat the Chameleon and return the Kung Fu villains to the spirit realm. Po chooses Zhen as his successor, surprising Master Shifu.
