Get Gold Pan In Poptropica: Quick Guide To Success

To get a gold pan in Poptropica's Wild West Island, you'll first need to get an old saddle. You can get this by helping the cowgirl in Rock Ridge find her calf, which has wandered off into the desert. Once you've found and returned the calf to the ranch, the cowgirl will reward you with the old saddle.

Now, head to the trading post in Dusty Gulch and trade the old saddle for a gold pan. With the gold pan in hand, you can now go panning for gold! Head to the spot on your map where the two rivers meet and click on a sparkly spot of water to pan for gold. Once you've found some gold, you can trade the gold pan for an oil can at the trading post.

Get a horse

To get a horse in Poptropica Wild West, you need to go right upon entering the island and talk to the guy next to the ranch. He's having some trouble with his horse, Elmer, and will let you have the horse if you can tame him. This is done by keeping your mouse on the guide at the bottom until the horse is tamed. You will also get a horse whistle to call your horse.

Get a letter

You'll need to get a letter delivered to Marshal Taylor in Diamond Plains. Head to the right and talk to the lady on the horse. She'll tell you that she delivers mail for the Pony Express, but her horse is too exhausted to go anywhere. You have a horse! Volunteer to deliver the letter to Marshal Taylor.

Leave town on your horse, and ride to the next town, Diamond Plains. To ride, click and hold the mouse. Move the mouse to change direction, and avoid edges of cliffs and other things in your way. You can even jump fences if you're fast enough! To enter a town, click "ENTER TOWN" on its star point. All towns have two entry points. Diamond Plains is right east of Dusty Gulch (the town you were in just now.) Once you're there, go right, and past the sign. Enter the Saloon (no need to dismount from the horse; it'll happen automatically.)

Go to the very right of the Saloon, and ask the guys there where Marshal Taylor is. They'll agree to help you if you beat them at a game of Spit-N-Time (competing to see how far you can spit some gum!) This is pretty simple; you don't even have to fill the power meter on the left! Use a 45-degree angle as a starting point, and make it higher the closer the spittoon is. Don't go below 45 degrees. Release the mouse just as the guide is moving over the bucket, and you'll make it in every time! Then, after the guys have pointed you to him, go left and talk to Marshal Taylor. Obviously, he's been drinking! You'll have to read him the letter. It says that McGready's Bank in Rock Ridge is going to be robbed by the notorious El Mustachio Grande! You have to do something!

Get a badge

You can get a badge by becoming the new marshal! To do this, you need to go to Diamond Plains and play a game of Spit-N-Time (competing to see how far you can spit some gum) with the guys at the Saloon. This is pretty simple; you don't even have to fill the power meter on the left! Use a 45-degree angle as a starting point, and make it higher the closer the spittoon is. Don't go below 45 degrees. Release the mouse just as the guide is moving over the bucket, and you'll make it in every time! Then, after the guys have pointed you to him, go left and talk to Marshal Taylor. Obviously, he's been drinking! You'll have to read him the letter. It says that McGready's Bank in Rock Ridge is going to be robbed by the notorious El Mustachio Grande! You have to do something!

You'll become the new Marshal! You can wear the badge or keep it off, but I recommend wearing it so the characters will recognize you as the Marshal.

Get a photo

Now that you’ve got a horse and become the Marshal, it’s time to get a photo of yourself. Travel back to Dusty Gulch, where you started the island. Go right until you see the photo wagon. The photographer who was disrespectful to you before now agrees to take your picture! This next mini-game is very easy; all you have to do is keep the mouse in one place and move it once in a while if it gets too wobbly. Once you have your picture, take it back to Diamond Plains and go into the Marshal’s office.

Get a pea shooter

To get a pea shooter in Poptropica Wild West, you must first get a horse. Go all the way to the right when you enter the island and talk to the guy next to the ranch. He's having some trouble with his horse, Elmer, and he says you can have the horse if you can tame him.
