The Crock-Pot™ Express Multi-Cooker offers a range of pre-set cooking settings, each with an automatically selected pressure that can be manually adjusted. While the cooker does not feature a Manual Pressure button, you can still cook with your own pressure setting and cook time by selecting any of the “One-Touch Meal” pressure setting options and adjusting the pressure and cook time as needed. The Time Selection Buttons (+ and -) are used to set the cooking time. To advance slowly, press either button, and to advance quickly, press and hold either button. What You'll Learn

Using the Time Selection Buttons
The Crock-Pot™ Express Multi-Cooker has a range of pre-set cooking settings that automatically select the optimum pressure for that selection. However, you can manually adjust the pressure and cook time as needed.
The Time Selection Buttons, denoted by (+) and (-), are used to set the cooking time. To advance slowly, simply press either button and release. To advance quickly, press and hold the (+) or (-) button. If you have passed the desired time, simply press the opposite arrow button to return to the desired time.
For example, if you are cooking a 2-pound roast, it is suggested to first sear the meat to create a good crust. Then, depending on whether or not you seared the meat, cook it for 45-60 minutes. After the cook time is done, allow a full natural pressure release by leaving the pot alone for at least 20-25 minutes.
It is important to note that the time it takes to reach pressure will vary depending on the fullness of the pot. A very full pot will take longer to reach pressure than an emptier one. Additionally, the cooking process starts as the pot heats up, so it is recommended to stick to the recommended times in recipes when punching them into the Crock-Pot Express clock. Once the selected pressure has been reached, the timer will start counting down.
If you are using a pressure function, the word "HEAT" will appear on the display screen until the cooker is fully pressurized. Once the pressure is reached, the timer will begin counting down.

Adjusting temperature
Adjusting the temperature on your Crock-Pot™ Express Multi-Cooker is simple. The Temp Adjust button allows you to select your desired temperature, either HIGH or LOW. This button can only be used on the SLOW COOK, YOGURT, and BROWN/SAUTÉ functions.
Each pre-set cooking setting automatically selects the optimum pressure for that selection, but you can manually adjust the temperature using the Temp Adjust button. For example, if you have a pressure recipe that requires a manual setting, or if you want to pressure cook using your own pressure setting and cook time, you can select any of the “One-Touch Meal” pressure setting options and adjust the pressure and cook time as needed.
The Time Selection Buttons (+ and -) are used to set the cooking time. To advance slowly, press and release the + or - button. To advance quickly, press and hold the + or - button. If you pass the desired time, simply press the opposite arrow button to return to the desired time.
It's important to note that the time it takes to reach pressure will vary depending on the fullness of the pot. A very full pot will take longer than an emptier one. When using a pressure function, the word “HEAT” will appear on the display screen until the Multi-Cooker is fully pressurized. Once the selected pressure has been reached, the timer will start counting down.
There are many variables when it comes to pressure cooking, so it's recommended to stick to using recipes as written until you’re familiar with how food cooks under pressure before adjusting the temperature and time settings.

Manual pressure setting
To set a timer on the Crock-Pot™ Express for manual pressure cooking, you must ensure that there is enough liquid in the pot to generate steam and pressure. The minimum amount of liquid required is 8 oz or 1 cup of water, broth, etc.
Then, secure the lid by turning it counter-clockwise until the downward-facing arrow aligns with the locked symbol. Make sure the steam release valve is in the "Seal" (closed) position.
After adding your ingredients to the pot, you can press any of the “One-Touch Meal” pressure setting options. You can then adjust the pressure and cook time as needed using the time selection buttons.
If you want your Crock-Pot™ Express to start cooking later, you can use the DELAY TIMER function to select the amount of time you want the device to wait before beginning the cooking cycle. This function is not available on the BROWN/SAUTÉ, KEEP WARM, or YOGURT settings.

Quick Pressure Release Method
The Quick Pressure Release Method is used when you're in a hurry. It is one of the two ways to release pressure from your Crock-Pot Express cooker, the other being the Natural Release Method.
Firstly, wait at least 10 minutes after your cooking cycle is complete. Then, using a kitchen utensil, flick the tab on the Steam Release Valve to the "Release" position. You will know that the pressure has been released when steam is no longer escaping from the valve and the lid opens freely with minimal force. Only then is it safe to remove the lid. Do not force the lid to open. If it does not open easily, this means that the Crock-Pot Express is still under pressure.
It is important to note that you should not use the Quick Pressure Release Method when cooking foods with a high liquid content (such as soups and stews). For these, use the Natural Release Method, waiting at least 10 minutes after cooking is complete before rotating the Steam Release Valve.
The Crock-Pot Express Multi-Cooker has nine pre-set pressure cooker buttons: Meat/Stew, Beans/Chili, Rice/Risotto, Yogurt, Poultry, Dessert, Soup, Multigrain, and Steam. It also has Slow Cook, Brown/Sauté, and Keep Warm buttons. The cooker does not know what is in your pot, so the buttons are just pre-set, suggested times for cooking that item. You can adjust the pre-set times using the "+" and "-" time select buttons.
To set a timer on the Crock-Pot Express, press the START/STOP button and then select the desired cooking function. A new timer will flash on the Display Screen, along with the selected function. Select the desired time, pressure, and/or temperature. Press the START/STOP button, and the new function will begin preheating. You can change the cooking time before cooking begins by pressing the "+" and "-" buttons before pressing START/STOP. Press and release to change the time slowly, and press and hold to change it quickly. If you pass the desired temperature or time, press the opposite button.
You can also use your own recipes by selecting SLOW COOK and adding your ingredients to the pot. You can then set your desired cook time, and your meal will cook slowly.
