Shado-Pan Assault Rep: Where To Find It

The Shado-Pan Assault are the elite Shado-Pan forces sent to kill Lei Shen, the Thunder King. The main way to gain reputation with the Shado-Pan Assault is by killing bosses in the Throne of Thunder raid. Trash mobs also award reputation up to 2,999/3,000 neutral. Outside of the raid, there are several one-time quests that award a small amount of reputation. The weekly quest [32-35WG] Champions of the Thunder King will award 300 reputation.

Killing bosses in the Throne of Thunder raid

The entrance to the Throne of Thunder is located in the north-western part of the Isle of the Thunder King and can be accessed through a portal near the Shado-Pan Garrison in Townlong Steppes. The raid houses 12 boss encounters (13 including the heroic-only boss). Here is a strategy guide for killing the bosses in the Throne of Thunder raid:

Jin'rokh the Breaker

Jin'rokh the Breaker is the first boss of the instance. This is a single-phase fight of relatively low complexity, focusing on proper positioning, movement, and timing of DPS cooldowns.

Horridon and War-God Jalak

After Jin'rokh, you will face Horridon and his master, War-God Jalak. This fight has multiple phases and your raid will need to handle a large number of adds.

Council of Elders

You will fight four Troll bosses simultaneously, each with their own unique mechanics and abilities. At certain times, each boss becomes empowered, altering their abilities.

Tortos

Tortos is another relatively simple fight, where your raid faces a giant turtle and a large number of adds. This fight introduces an interesting new mechanic.

Megaera

Megaera, the fifth boss, is a multi-headed hydra (a corrupted Cloud Serpent). This encounter is extremely challenging, with the difficulty ramping up continuously throughout the fight.

Ji-Kun

The sixth boss, Ji-Kun, is heavily reminiscent of Alysrazor in Firelands. The fight is not complicated in terms of mechanics but is still enjoyable.

Durumu the Forgotten

Durumu the Forgotten is the seventh boss and presents an extremely creative mechanic that has not been used in previous World of Warcraft encounters. It is a strenuous fight that will challenge your raid members.

Primordius

Primordius, one of Lei Shen's failed experiments, appears complex at first glance but is easy to understand. It is a DPS race, and your raid will enjoy buffed stats if the strategy is executed correctly.

Dark Animus

Before engaging the mechanical construct Dark Animus, you will need to defeat a number of smaller adds. The fight is quite chaotic.

Iron Qon

Iron Qon, the tenth boss, rides into battle with his three Quilen Champions. After they are defeated, Iron Qon will fight alone. This is an intense but enjoyable fight.

Twin Consorts: Lu'lin and Suen

The penultimate encounter features the Twin Consorts, Lu'lin and Suen. This fight bears similarities to previous twins fights but also adds several new and innovative elements.

Emperor Lei Shen

Emperor Lei Shen is the final boss of the Throne of Thunder. The fight against him is long, complex, and difficult, as expected of a final boss.

Ra-den (Heroic only)

Once you have defeated Lei Shen on Heroic difficulty, you will unlock the opportunity to face Ra-den, a Titan keeper imprisoned in the bowels of the Throne. Not much is known about this boss, but he is obviously hostile towards your raid.

Completing the Champions of the Thunder King weekly quest

To complete the Champions of the Thunder King weekly quest, you must perform the Lightning Ritual, the Spirit Ritual, and the Primal Ritual. To do this, you will need to get your hands on some of the scattered Shan'ze Ritual Stones found across the Isle of Thunder. Once you have these, you can summon and defeat the powerful opponents that are lurking on the island.

You will need to summon and defeat the following:

• A Spirit Champion: Spirit of Warlord Teng
• A Lightning Champion: Electromancer Ju'le
• An Ancient Mogu Guardian
• A Primal Champion: Incomplete Drakkari Colossus
• Windweaver Akil'amon

These rituals and battles will be against three powerful groups: masters of lightning, ancient and powerful spirits, and primal Zandalari monstrosities.

Once you have completed the quest, you will receive a Cache of Infinite Treasure, a Lesser Charm of Good Fortune, and 300 reputation with Shado-Pan Assault.

Farming trash mobs in Throne of Thunder

Farming trash mobs in the Throne of Thunder is a great way to earn Shado-Pan Assault reputation. The Shado-Pan Assault is a faction that was added to Mists of Pandaria in Patch 5.2, and they are an elite subgroup of the Shado-Pan forces on the Isle of Thunder.

Trash mobs in the Throne of Thunder raid instance award 30 reputation each, up to a maximum of 2,999/3,000 neutral. This means that you can farm a significant amount of reputation by repeatedly killing these mobs. One effective strategy is to kill all the trash before Jin'rokh the Breaker, then have all raid members exit the instance and let the raid leader reset it. Starting from 0/3,000, you can cap your reputation with four or five runs using this method.

It's worth noting that trash mobs will grant reputation until you reach 1 point shy of friendly, so this method is particularly useful if you're aiming for that specific reputation level. Additionally, while boss kills grant more reputation at 300 each, they only award reputation once per week, regardless of the difficulty level. So, if you're looking to farm reputation quickly, focusing on trash mobs can be a more efficient strategy in the Throne of Thunder raid.

Completing one-time quests outside of the raid

To gain reputation with the Shado-Pan Assault outside of raids, you can complete one-time quests. Firstly, ensure you have reached revered status with the Golden Lotus. You can do this by completing a short questline that opens the gates to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. Once the gates are open, you can find a Golden Lotus quest chain at the Golden Pagoda.

The Shado-Pan daily hub is located in the western Townlong Steppes, offering daily quests that provide +250 rep each, except for the final quest, which yields 350 rep. These quests are selected from three sets of quest hubs, each providing a special buff and a choice of three companions to assist with DPS.

Completing these one-time quests will allow you to gain reputation with the Shado-Pan Assault without engaging in raid activities.

Obtaining Shado-Pan Assault Insignia from goody bags

To obtain Shado-Pan Assault Insignia from goody bags, players must complete boss-killing daily quests on the Isle of Thunder. The Insignia can be found inside the Arcane Trove and Sunreaver Bounty goody bags, which are awarded for completing these quests. The Shado-Pan Assault Insignia are worth 100 reputation each and can also be found inside Lei Shen's Burial Troves at the end of the Troves of the Thunder King single-player loot-grabbing scenario.

Lord Taran Zhu leads the planning of the attack from a cave underneath the Conqueror's Terrace. The main way of gaining reputation with the Shado-Pan Assault is by killing bosses in the Throne of Thunder raid. This gives access to impressive Valor reward items depending on the level of reputation.

Standing with the faction is primarily gained by killing mobs in the Throne of Thunder raid instance. Bosses award reputation once per week. So, if a player kills a boss in Raid Finder mode and then subsequently kills it in normal or heroic mode during the same week, the player's character will only gain reputation for the first kill.

Outside of the raid, there are several one-time quests that award a small amount of reputation. Additionally, the once-weekly quest [32-35WG] Champions of the Thunder King will award 300 reputation.

In Patch 5.4, only Shado-Pan Assault quartermasters (QM) exchange rewards for Valor Points. Former Valor QMs such as Commander Oxheart now only exchange rewards for Justice Points. Rewards that previously required Honored and Revered reputation are now available at Friendly reputation. Shoulder gear that was available at Exalted still requires Exalted, and neck items are still available at Neutral.
