Getting Your Pan Number For Msu: A Quick Guide

Finding your PAN number as a student

As an employee of Michigan State University (MSU), you can find your PAN number by following these steps:

Step 1: Contact the MSU ID Office

You can call the MSU ID Office at 517-355-4500 during their business hours, which are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:45 pm EST. They will provide you with your PIN over the phone if your paperwork has been fully processed by HR. Alternatively, you can visit the MSU ID Office in person to obtain your PIN. However, it is recommended to call ahead to ensure that your paperwork has been processed before visiting their office.

Logging into StuInfo

To log into StuInfo, you must be a current student or staff member with access. There is a 24-hour lag time after paying your deposit before you can access StuInfo.

If you are logging in with a guest account, follow these instructions:

• Go to the StuInfo website: .
• Enter an activated MSU Guest Account (full email address) in the MSU NETID field.
• Enter the password for the MSU Guest Account.
• Leave the Authenticator drop-down box as MSU Net.
• Click Sign In.
• If logging in for the first time, a FERPA (privacy) statement will display. Enter the student’s MSU NetID (not the full [email protected] email address) and the guest’s first and last names. This must match exactly what the student entered when they created the guest access.
• Navigate to the student’s information.

Logging into your MSU email

To log in to your MSU email, you will need your username and password. For students, the username is in the format [email protected] (e.g. [email protected]). For staff, the username is in the format [email protected] (e.g. [email protected]). Your password is your NetID password.

If you are a student and do not know your PAN, you can find it in your applicant portal. There may be a 5-7 day delay from your acceptance before the PAN becomes available on the portal. You can also find your PAN number on the site where you submitted your application. It will be displayed with your APID or ID.

Registering for Self-Service Password Reset

To register for Self-Service Password Reset for your MSU account, you must first set up a new user profile. This is required for all current and past MSU students, faculty, and staff.

To get started, go to the MSU Self-Service Password Portal. Click the "Go to Setup Tool" button in the New User Setup tile. Enter your NetID and click "Continue". If you have forgotten your NetID, you can claim/recover it.

If you have never configured your profile before, you will need to enter your MSU ID and Date of Birth and click "Continue". Your MSU ID will be in the format of -12345678, and your Date of Birth should be in the format MMDDYYYY or 07211996.

Next, you will need to select and configure your verification method(s). You will be required to configure 5 challenge questions. You will also have the option to set up an alternative email address and/or cell number to receive verification codes. You only need to set up one authentication method, but you are required to set up the challenge questions.

Once you have completed setting up your new user profile, you can then set/reset your NetID password. To do this, click the "Go to Reset Tool" button in the Password Reset tile. Enter your NetID and select your verification method. After verifying your identity, review the password rules and enter your new password. Then, click the "Reset" button to set your new password.
