What You'll Learn

Block Plans
If you live off-campus, you can get an Off-Campus Meal Plan. These are available to students living in Ram Village, Granville Towers, or Baity Hill, as well as students in a fraternity or sorority. Off-Campus Meal Plans are semester contracts, and students will need to sign up for each semester separately. The fall semester Off-Campus Meal Plans will be available for purchase beginning August 1, 2025, and the last day to add a plan for the fall semester is December 2, 2025. For the spring semester, students will need to sign up between December 15, 2025, and January 26, 2026.
In addition to the set number of meals, Block Plans also come with PLUS Swipes. With the Block Plans, 25 of your allotted swipes are PLUS Swipes, which can be used to eat select combos at retail locations across campus.
You can purchase an add-on block when you have 10 or fewer meals remaining on your current plan. The new meals will not appear until you have used all of the meals on your current plan. Add-on blocks are available in Block 20, Block 40, or Block 60 options. It is important to note that add-on blocks are only available for on-campus plans and do not roll over to the next semester.
Flex is another option that can be added to a Block Plan. Flex works like a declining balance on your student One Card and can be used for food purchases at approved CDS locations, including delivery orders and on-campus food trucks. $200 Flex comes with the purchase of the 100 Block plan, and $50 Flex comes with the 120, 160, and 200 Block Plans. Additional Flex can be purchased online in various amounts throughout the year.

All Access Plans
If you live off campus, you can get an Off-Campus Meal Plan. The All Access Plan gives you the best cost-per-meal value. You can eat at the dining halls as often as you want and never run out of swipes!
The All Access Plan includes 35 PLUS Swipes, 10 Guest Meals, and $50 of Flex. PLUS Swipes can be used to eat select combos at retail locations across campus. Flex can be used at retail locations across campus. The All Access Plan costs $790.
If you're unsure how often you'll be eating on campus and want maximum flexibility, try the Dining Flex plan. It charges to your student account the same way a Block Plan would. Once you've got your OneCard and have signed up for the plan, you're all set.
You can also add Flex to your Off-Campus Meal Plan. Although you can purchase an add-on block when you're at or below 10 meals remaining, you won't see the new meals until you've used all of your remaining meals. Once you've hit zero on your current plan, you'll see the new balance of meals (20, 40, or 60) pop up on your account.

Elevate meal plan
The Elevate Meal Plan is a service that allows college students to eat at restaurants for a cheaper price than university dining halls. Elevate offers meal credits that can be used at favourite off-campus restaurants. The app-based service has been designed to improve the dining experience of college students, providing healthier, tastier, and more affordable food options.
Elevate works with many different restaurants all over campus, so there is always something for everyone, no matter what is being craved. The Elevate app makes it easy to order food ahead so that it is ready to be picked up. This is a great feature for busy students on the go. Unlike dining dollars and swipes at school, Elevate credits roll over each semester and year, right up until graduation.
The Elevate Meal Plan has been praised by students for its convenience and affordability. Students have reported saving hundreds of dollars on food, and enjoying healthier and more delicious meals. The ability to order in advance is also a significant advantage over university meal plans, which often do not offer this option.
The Elevate app has a simple sign-up process and is available on the Apple App Store. There is also a discount code, ELEVATE11, which offers $11 off your first plan.
For students at UNCA, there are various meal plan options available, including on-campus and off-campus plans.
