To reach the Sha of Violence, you must fight your way through the monastery, defeating the various corrupted Shado-Pan leaders. The dungeon has a linear layout with four different zones and four bosses: Gu Cloudstrike, Master Snowdrift, the Sha of Violence, and Taran Zhu.
Before facing the Sha of Violence, you must release all the Sha minions imprisoned in the Sealed Chambers and kill them. Kill Gu Cloudstrike and his Jade Serpent
Gu Cloudstrike is the first boss you will encounter in the Shado-Pan Monastery dungeon. The fight against Gu Cloudstrike is a 3-phase fight.
In the first phase, you will fight Gu and his Jade Serpent (also known as the Azure Serpent). During this phase, Gu will cast Invoke Lightning on a random target, which has an AoE component, so make sure to spread out 5 yards apart to limit the damage. The Azure Serpent will also create a Static Field at the location of a random player, inflicting heavy Nature damage on all players within 10 yards of the point of impact.
The first phase ends when Gu reaches 50% health. In the second phase, Gu becomes invulnerable and enters a meditative state, and you must focus your attacks on the Jade Serpent. The serpent will use abilities such as Charging Soul, Magnetic Shroud, and Lightning Breath to attack the players.
Once the Jade Serpent is defeated, Gu Cloudstrike will rejoin the fight in the third phase, and you will need to finish him off.

Kill Master Snowdrift and his initiates
Master Wan Snowdrift is the master of the Shado-Pan's Blackguard discipline and is responsible for training new recruits in the Shado-Pan Monastery. To kill Master Snowdrift and his initiates, players must first fight waves of Shado-Pan Novices as they enter the room downstairs. These novices turn non-hostile at low health, so players should remember to switch targets each time they defeat one.
Once the players have passed this gauntlet of novices, two senior students enter the ring: Flying Snow and Fragrant Lotus. Flying Snow uses whirlwind attacks, which all players, including the tank, should run away from. Fragrant Lotus, on the other hand, summons damaging spheres that should be avoided.
After defeating these two senior students, players can finally face Master Snowdrift himself. Snowdrift is a paragon of martial arts and has dedicated his life to attaining perfection of body and mind. He begins combat by using his fists and feet, with a range of powerful attacks:
- Fists of Fury: Snowdrift strikes numerous times with his fists, dealing Fire damage to any player in front of him.
- Tornado Kick: Snowdrift continuously spins and kicks out at all players within range, dealing physical damage and knocking them back.
- Flying Kick: If the player that Snowdrift counterattacks is not within melee range, he will fly through the air and kick them, inflicting physical damage.
- Chi Energy: Snowdrift harnesses and unleashes his Chi energy at the players.
By defeating Master Snowdrift and his initiates, players force him to submit and recognise their strength in defeating the Sha.
